Frequently Asked Questions
Please feel free to call me or email me with any questions that you may have, and if I am unable to take your call please leave a message and I will respond to any messages as promptly as possible.
What happens in the first session?
The first session we have is the chance for you to assess if I am the right person for you. It also gives me the opportunity to understand what you are looking for and to see if what I can offer will suit you, before making an agreement to work together.
How often are the sessions?
To begin with sessions are usually weekly in order to establish a therapeutic relationship. Regular appointments are suggested for the therapy to be effective. I endeavour to accommodate clients that are perhaps unable to attend at the same day/time each week. Regular reviews are included to ensure that the counselling is meeting your needs.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes and can be booked one at a time or in a block. Some clients will come for a few sessions to look at a specific issue; others will choose to work for a longer period on an open-ended basis.
Where is your practice?
Counselling sessions take place at my home in Twyford. I have a dedicated room in my home that is quiet, comfortable and confidential. The room overlooks the garden and is very private. There is parking available on the drive.
How do I make contact?
Making the decision to take the first step to contact a counsellor can be very daunting. I am very aware of this and understand how hard it can be. Please choose the method of contact with which you are most comfortable.
